S. O. S. !
So serious that I have resigned from my part-time salaried position which paid me $12.00 per hour, but will continue to write the Newsletter, oversee the Book list, read our e-mails, and counsel as requested on a volunteer basis. I love this ministry. I owe my life to it. I do this gladly as unto the Lord.
And it will help. But it will not solve everything.
It will mean that I will not be in the office every Wednesday, and when David must be away, to answer the phones. As we have tried to explain, without adequate funds we have no choice but to cut services. We don’t want to; we have to. If we have to, we can and will cut more services.
It really depends on you. God has been wonderfully good to this work over the years. I recently looked back over the years I have been here and counted over 20 men and women who are not living a homosexual life now because of this one chapter in Reading. Countless others have been blessed through other chapters, the Newsletter, online chapters, the webpage, and HA’s literature. The ministry is working! It is doing all this on a budget smaller than that of an average size church. So, you may ask, what’s the problem?
While some of you have been wonderfully generous and faithful in helping us help others, others have not done their part. Some receive and give; others only take and do not give. To which group do you belong?
So, as they say, the ball is in your court. Do you care whether or not this ministry continues reaching men and women who want to live free from their same-sex attractions? Are you getting support yourself toward that goal? Is someone you love being helped? Will you help us?
UPDATE
Thank you to everyone who gave so generously during the month of December. We don’t have the final figures from our accountants yet, but a number of you gave sacrificially and it really helped. God bless you!
One month, however, does not make a good year, so please continue to pray and give that God might be glorified in the reclaiming of lives from bondage to homosexuality.
